So when the transfer of Oliver Abildgaard to Celtic was met with great enthusiasm by the Celtic support.

It marked the end of the hunt for that elusive defensive midfielder the club had been searching for all summer.

With many alleged rumours surrounding players like Fausto Vera never really materialising to anything substantial, going into the last day of the transfer window with no signing in sight really must have worried the supporters.

But we shouldn’t really have been worried. Ange Postecoglou has form for pulling a rabbit put the hat on deadline day and, boy, he didn’t disappoint.

But is the deal a loan? Option to buy?

Here, Rubin Kazan’s Sporting Director opens up on the exact details of the deal.

Speaking to Russian news outlet Sport Business Gazetta, Kazan’s Sporting Director Oleg Yarovinsky said,Abildgaard has a two-year contract with the club.

“For the season, he goes to Celtic, taking advantage of the right to suspend the contract.

“However, this was a position agreed between him and us. Any loan often implies various options and obligations to the club from which they are rented.

“Legally, he suspends the contract, but, in fact, this is a lease for a year and after that he will return to us.

“Then we will be able to consider more profitable offers for its sale than we could get now. ”

So it looks like the club could be back to square one at the end of the season unless we can convince the big Dane to stay on permanently.

But, as always, in Ange we trust, as the gaffer always has a plan.
