Jonny Hayes is a player with a point to prove this coming season and it would seem that he is very excited to get back among the action.
The signing from last summer suffered an injury-hit campaign in 2017/18 but in recent months he has been working his way back to fitness.
And, after seeing the quality we’ve got in his position on show during that time, he’ll know that he’s got to hit the ground running in training in order to force himself into the side.
It seems, though, that he is excited about the prospect of playing in green and white once more with him quoted by the club’s official site as saying:
“I’m still a bit excited, running around a little too much.
“It’s obviously been a long time coming. It’s been great to get back in with the boys last week. I’m enjoying every day. I don’t take it for granted and I’m excited to be back in.”
The Verdict
I’m intrigued to see what Hayes is going to manage to do this season coming.
He’s not the youngest but he does have quality and he’s certainly got a point to prove this year so that should spur him on.
