To be honest, I think we have been relatively lucky with injuries this season.

Well, when you look at last season compared to how many we have had so far this season, it is night and day.

Or is it only because we have a bigger squad that is able to cope with the demands, unlike last what we witnessed in Ange’s first year.

So far, only Greg Taylor and James Forrest are looking like possible doubts for Saturday’s cup tie at Tynecastle. That was until last night when Maeda was taken off after clashing with Zander Clarke for our equalising goal.

When asked post-match on BBC Sportsound how Maeda is doing, Ange said, “Obviously he limped off.

“It’s a knock on the knee so we’ll just have to assess and obviously it’s a short turnaround to Saturday so we’ll have to see how he is but hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”

Hopefully, taking Maeda off early and not allowing him to try and run it off will have saved the Japanese winger from damaging his knee further but, I suppose, the one positive we can take from last night is that should he not make it in time for Tynecastle, Sead Haksabanovic looks like he is coming into a bit of form after his sub appearance and goal last night.

I will be leaving Vital Celtic at the end of the month but will continue to cover club news in another capacity. More details later.
