Earlier today Celtic Manager Ange Postecoglou spoke to Sam and Matt from Sportsday Radio. During the interview, Ange spoke about his past year experience in Glasgow, his contract and coaching Mantra, why he thrives with insecurity and Champions League football next season.
During the 2021/22 season Postecoglou’s team were well deserved League and League Cup winners. The philosophy of we ‘WE NEVER STOP’ was demonstrated many times throughout the season with late goals in games against Ross County, Dundee United, Dundee and Aberdeen. Despite Ange looking forward to how his team will perform next season domestically he also has his eyes set on the UEFA Champions League and looks forward to the challenges ahead: “I was watching Liverpool/Real Madrid the other day…knowing my luck of the draw we’ll get one of them. We’ll get the big guns, and I cannot wait.”
This shows that Ange has full belief that him and his team can fully compete in Europe next season which is what all Celtic supporters want to hear!
Celtic, recently, have openly offered their managers 12 month rolling contracts during their time at the club however, there has been managers who have been offered long term deals such as Brenden Rodgers and Neil Lennon. Ange spoke about his current contract situation and made strong hints of wanting to commit his future to our club: “Long term contracts really mean absolute jack as anyone will tell you. I’m really happy at Celtic and I’ve had an amazing year. As long as the club want me to stay, I’ll be sticking around” This is really exciting to hear for us Celtic supporters, as Ange has well and truly rebuilt the faith in the club and as long as he is around and continues his winning ways, he will have the strong support of Celtic fans.
