Right, I have no idea who Frank McAvennie knows inside Celtic Park or whether or not he has connections within the club but he has come away with a bold claim this week that surely needs to be looked at.

The international break is never kind to Celtic regarding the injury front.

We always seem to find ourselves on the right side of bad news when it comes to players being hit with lengthy layoffs and this break seems to be doing it’s level best to live up to past experiences.

Admittedly, the injury to our big American centre-back, Cameron Carter-Vickers, happened just before the break, but this news by McAvennie is just not what we want to hear.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said, “He’s a huge miss and apparently he’s going to be out for a while, from what I’ve heard.

“It’s not ideal with the games coming thick and fast but the international break will have done him good. He’ll be getting worked on and hopefully, he’ll be back in a couple of weeks.

“He’s a huge presence in the team.

“I think Jenz looks a better player when he’s with Carter-Vickers, so does Starfelt.

“[Stephen] Welsh and Jenz didn’t do it last week for me.

“There were too many changes. It was great for St Mirren but from a Celtic point of view, it was the first game they’ve lost in a year and it was a stupid way to lose because they just didn’t turn up.“

Celtic face a nightmare scenario this week with up to four potential injury concerns [The Scotsman] and as the club enters the busiest month of the season so far, this does not look good for the club.

Like I said at the start, I don’t know if what McAvennie has heard has come from a reliable source, I’m going to take a guess and say it may just be whisperings amongst his circle, but if Carter Vickers is set to be out for any length of time, that will be a major worry for Ange Postecoglou.

It’s the dreaded international break. So take away the boredom and try our *BRAND NEW* quiz. Who are Celtic’s most capped players from these countries?

Who would tell McAvennie anything? Great player but a clown off the field, I wouldn’t give credence to a word he says about any goings on at CP.

I’m guessing the bold Frank is taking a flier,or been talking to his imaginary friends
