“Be careful what you wish for” – Premiership managers warning to Celtic fans

As the news of Neil Lennon’s resignation starts to sink in with the Celtic support, one Scottish Premiership manager, John Hughes, has warned the Hoops fans to be careful what they wish for and to also not forget the good the former boss has done for the club.

Who should be the next Celtic Manager?

Celtic made an announcement on The London Stock Exchange at 7am this morning in a brief statement that read, Celtic PLC confirms that first team manager, Neil Lennon, has resigned and will leave the Club with immediate effect. The Club would like to thank Neil for his outstanding contribution during his time at Celtic as manager. John Kennedy will assume the role of interim manager effective immediately.”

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show the Ross County boss, John Hughes simply warned the fans, “He’s got a passion and nice he’s got a real steely determination and that was before the game.  I really feel for a him I just keep saying this, ‘Watch what you wish for, and look at, before you come to decisions. Watch what he’s done for the club, and in terms of the trophies he’s won for the club as a manager’. Outstanding, and his team play real good football”.

Great support from the manager that eventually forced Lennon to fall on his sword but I think at this time, Celtic fans knew that Lennon could not take the team forward. Hughes calls it steely determination, but I’m sure if you ask the Celtic fans around the country, they would call it downright stubbornness.
