Sometimes it’s great to get a feeling of transfer stories from a different perspective.

Yeah, the mainstream media do have their sources and links, and also contacts in the game which make their transfer claims that bit more viable, but how do the fans feel about the current state of play with the Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota transfer saga?

Because I know that for me personally, I fear the worst. Particularly when it comes to Jota.

And I’ll tell you why. Jota has only just turned 23. He has had two loan moves and he seems to get better with each one.

His first loan spell was at Real Valladolid where he made 18 appearances and scored 2 goals. Not a bad return from someone who was just 21 years old at the time in one of Europe’s top leagues.

Then he found himself at Celtic where his record, as we all know, speaks for itself.

Twelve goals and twelve assists plus massive exposure in Europe at one the biggest clubs in the UK has meant Jota will most definitely have other suitors.

The world is his oyster.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, I think, will stay at the club.

He is looking for a home. His loan record alone shows that.

Excluding Celtic, at just 24 years old, CCV has had SIX loans during his short career. He hasn’t quite found somewhere that he can call his home.

Until now.

A first team regular, winning trophies and adored by millions of fans around the globe, and now on the cusp of reigniting his international career on top of guaranteed Champions League football.

I am convinced the American will sign with Celtic.

And so is James Forrest at The Celtic Blog.

Forrest is convinced BOTH players will sign on permanently at the club but is wary of the constant speculation surrounding both players ,“The reason I’m a little reluctant to write the stories about Jota being in talks with Celtic is that there were similar stories about Cameron Carter Vickers doing the rounds a few weeks ago, and they have fallen silent on us.

“I’m not saying that those talks collapsed, but there’s been nothing current on them lately.

“For the record, I still think both players will be wanted by the club and that both players will sign for the club.”

Which is really encouraging.

Celtic will need them next season. They have proven they can handle wearing the Hoops.

Let’s get it done Celtic!

We have a good core of a team to build on, but seriously need to strengthen it!

Signing CCV and a quality left back is a necessity to solidify the defence.

Likewise in midfield, where we need players who can perform the defensive side of the game as well as be playmakers who can support the forwards.

We’re lacking in the forward wide areas too; would love to see us sign Solbakken as well as Jota, and another couple of players of similar or better quality here.

At Centre Forward, we need at least two more players brought in, and we obviously need strength in depth to create competition for places, and to cover for injuries and suspension, in every position.

We need to sign the manager on a long term contract too!
