It’s not looking good is it?

With Celtic set to face RB Leipzig in a crucial Champions League doubleheader, it seems that we are going into the first match without any of our central defensive pairing of Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The big Swede was effectively ruled out over the weekend by Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou, but he was slightly more optimistic about giving our American bhoy until the last minute before making a decision on whether or not he would make the game.

That is looking less likely now as a report from the Daily Record has revealed that Carter-Vickers missed training this morning ahead of the trip to Germany.

It could be that Postecoglou didn’t want to risk CCV in a training session and is giving him an extended rest to recover from injury and he may assess him tomorrow, but it does not look good for his hopes of starting the match.

I suppose will find out more as the team prepares to fly out today and hopefully Carter-Vickers will make the journey.

The Hoops fans will be hoping to see the defender fly out to Germany as it will still give us that glimmer of hope that he could make the fixture.

All eyes will be on Glasgow Airport this morning.
