Celtic interested in 19-goal forward rated at more than £9m

Celtic are interested in Birmingham City striker Che Adams, according to The Mirror.

The paper say that the Hoops have had scouts in attendance to watch the 22-year-old as recently as last Tuesday, taking in Birmingham’s defeat to Bolton Wanderers at St Andrew’s.

Having failed to reach double figures for goals last season, he’s emerged this term as one of the most consistent scorers in the English Championship, netting 19 times in 32 league appearances.

That’s put him on the radar of not just Celtic, but also sides like Burnley, Manchester United and Arsenal, with Birmingham valuing him as worth more than £9m, say The Mirror.

A fee like that could price Celtic out of the bidding for the player come the summer, although we did shell out a club record fee for Odsonne Edouard last year and have a massive amount of money in the bank.

With Oliver Burke and Timo Weah only at the club on short-term loans and Leigh Griffiths still out of action, we could be looking for a second quality forward to complement the Frenchman.

Is Che Adams that man?
