Well now here we go.

Another day another transfer story.

Fresh from being linked with Iraqi full back Mohanad Jeahze, Celtic are now said to be tracking a former Europa Conference League foe in Ola Solbakken should Portuguese star, Jota, decide to return to Benfica after his loan deal expires in May.

Celtic are still hopeful that the 23 year old will decide to make his stay in Glasgow permanently but a report has emerged [Football Scotland] that Norwegian international and Bodo Glimt star Ola Solbakken has emerged as a target for the Hoops should Jota decide to depart from Paradise.

Solbakken helped his Norwegian club put Celtic to the sword with a goal and two assists as the Eliteserien Champions knocked the Hoops out of the Conference League back in February in the Arctic Circle.

Since then he has netted three and assisted three as he takes his goalscoring tally to eight in nineteen games plus five assists as he helped the Norwegians defend their title this season.

His form has clearly alerted the Parkhead scouts and they have earmarked him as an ideal candidate to take Jota’s spot in the starting eleven should a deal fail to materialise for the fans favourite.

Celtic seek to wrap up the title this weekend as a win over their rivals would see them stretch their lead to nine points with three games to go and with a goal difference of +20, it would be nigh on impossible to be caught at the top of the table.
