Celtic have submitted an improved offer for striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo, according to The Express.

The paper reckon that the Hoops had a initially bid of around £1.7m rejected.

However, that’s now been improved to £2m, with most of the money up front and an appealing sell-on clause added to the deal.

The report states that it is to a ‘take it or leave it’ offer, with the club unlikely to return with an improved bid if this one is rejected.

However, the player himself is said to be keen on a move to Scotland and has been following club related accounts on Instagram, perhaps a hint that he sees a transfer to Celtic likely.

The 21-year-old would appear to be worth the money, having impressed for Slovakian side Dunajska Streda this season with 18 goals and seven assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.

An Ivory Coast youth international, he looks to have the kind of potential we’ve done excellently to attract and develop in recent years.

With Odsonne Edouard badly needing some striking support, this is a signing that would go down very well with fans, who are desperate to see the club make a permanent signing or two during the January transfer window.
