Celtic star Timo Weah has been named on a list of the top 20 teenagers in world football, compiled by outlet Goal.
Their annual ‘NxGn’ list ranks the top 50 young talents in the global game and the on-loan prospect has made it to number 17, in the top 20 alongside talents such as the £63m-rated Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior and Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden.
Weah made an immediate impact at Celtic after moving from Paris Saint-Germain on loan in January but has since seen his role in the first-team reduced, although there have been calls from supporters to give him more starts.
He’s scored three goals and assisted once in 11 appearances.
With homegrown prospects like Mikey Johnston now getting minutes ahead of him though, what the future holds for him at Celtic is unknown.
Some had hoped he may extend his initial six-month loan but if he isn’t getting the game time he wants then that seems unlikely.
Will Neil Lennon turn to him for the upcoming derby against Rangers at Celtic Park?
