Quoted by Football Insider, pundit Noel Whelan has suggested that the Hoops could well sign Victor Wanyama in the January transfer window if they really go for it.
The Kenyan midfielder is a familiar name around these parts after excelling during his time at the club with him proving a powerful, reliable presence in the middle of the park.
Indeed, those performances earned him a move to the Premier League with spells at Southampton and Tottenham being undertaken ever since.
However, he’s struggling at Tottenham now and it looks as though he could well be a player that they are open to getting rid of if the right price comes in.
And, according to Whelan, Celtic could well get him in with him saying:
“He knows the club really well, he knows Neil Lennon thinks the world of him and he would be playing regularly. I can see him joining in January, definitely.”
The only sticking point I can see is wages. He’ll surely have to take a pay cut to come back to Celtic Park – the question is will he be willing to?
