A good win. Three points in the bag.

Yes, it could have been out of sight sooner and saved all our nerves, but job done, we move onto Hungary next.

After a lively start by the Hoops, after just thirty seconds Rogic almost played Kyogo in who was free at the near post, but the crucial pass was intercepted.

Two minutes later, the Hungarians almost got their noses in front after Ryan Mmaee snuck in at the front post to attempt a near post flick on but was put off by Carter Vickers.

Six minutes later McGregor picked up the ball twenty yards out and tried to place a shot into the Hungarian goalkeepers bottom corner but it was comfortably handled by the keeper.

Celtic were comfortable in possession  and on the 21st minute Ralston started a slick move on the 21st minute when he found a little pocket of space and released Jota who passed to Kyogo but the Japanese striker put his effort high and wide.

After a relatively quiet first half for the referee, he had to brandish a yellow card to Ralston, who retaliated the other Mmaee kicked out at Kyogo whilst he tried to collect the ball after winning a free kick.

Half time and the teams came out unchanged and after a quiet opening spell the game burst to life after Jota played an incredible cross field pass right into the path of Kyogo who made a darting run to lose his man coolly slotted the ball past the Hungarian champions keeper.

The crowd went wild and Celtic were on the up.

But things could have been very different less than a minute later Ralston made a crucial challenge as the Hungarians broke forward and Ralston timed his tackle perfectly to prevent an almost certain equaliser.

On the 61st minute, Celtic were awarded a penalty as Montgomery ghosted down the Hungarians right flank and the defenders lazy challenge brought down the young defender and the referee awarded a spot kick.

The captain stepped up to take but the Ferencvaros keeper saved his poor penalty, diving waist height to his left to punch away the attempted conversion.

Celtic lost their way slightly after that but finally got back into their groove and in the 82nd minute, put the game to bed.

McGregor atoned for his earlier penalty miss as he broke down a move by the Hungarians in midfield and released Jota who crossed first time to find Turnbull where the young Scot finally pushed the ball into the oppositions net at the second attempt.

With the match home and hosed, the Hoops played out the final ten minutes and Jota almost made it three after pushing his placed effort just wide of the oppositions left hand post.

A great three points secured by the Hoops leaves them with a chance of progression in the group and effectively knocks out Ferencvaros.
