I suppose after last night’s result, this was probably on the cards.
RB Leipzig’s 4-1 home defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk will not have gone down well with the fans and the board have acted swiftly.
The Germans sit 11th in the Bundesliga where in their first five matches they have only won once, drew twice and lost twice.
The sacking today also follows a 4-0 drubbing by Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend and it spells the end of Domenico Tedesco’s reign at the club.

Former Celtic favourite Andreas Hinkel was also relieved of his duties as the club tries to restore its fortunes on the field.
Celtic are due to face Leipzig in the Champions League in Germany on the 5th of October and you would suspect that the new manager would be in place by then.
You can never tell if this is a good thing or not.
I think I would have preferred to face Leipzig during a slump in form rather than after a new manager gets appointed.
As we all know what happens when there’s a change in management.
Players get a lift, and performances (more often than not) improve which means that by the time we face Leipzig they could be a different animal.
