This is something that a lot of fan media outlets, including us here at Vital Celtic, have been warning about for some time.

Whilst the contract situation with Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers turns into a mini Eddie Howe scenario, Chris Sutton is warning Celtic that there is one person they must look to tie down immediately.

The gaffer, Ange Postecoglou.

Speaking in his column in the Daily Record, Sutton says that whilst he has no concerns that the Celtic boss’ head is being turned, it would make sense to get him tied up on a longer term deal, “Postecoglou sounds content in his surroundings but that doesn’t mean others won’t take notice.

“Clubs are already starting to take notice.

“All of a sudden his success at Celtic has been added to his achievements with clubs and country and it’s looking a serious body of work.”

And he is 100% on the money. On both counts.

I genuinely think Ange has found a home in Glasgow. He clearly loves it here in Glasgow but let’s not kid ourselves.

He is an ambitious manager. He wants to manage at the very top and Celtic are giving him a vehicle to achieve that.

I hope he stays for years to come. Not since Martin O’Neill have Celtic had a manager that resonates so closely with the Celtic fans.

It just makes good sense to secure the club if any vultures come circling.
