Brendan Rodgers recognises his best team, but Craig Gordon is expecting the manager to rotate a lot over the next few weeks. We’ve got 6 games on the horizon before the end of the year, and so it’s going to be a busy time to be a Hoop.

As per the official Celtic website, Gordon has revealed that he thinks everyone will get their chance to prove their worth over the course of the next few weeks.

Gordon said: “We’re going to need contributions from everybody from around the squad. This is the time when you need the squad players,  who are going to have to come in and play their part”.

He added: “It’s an important month in terms of that strength in depth to be able to do that, and cope with this fixture list at the moment”.

Clearly, with an average of around two games per week before the end of the year, there’s a lot of work to be done.

It’s easy for a team to continue to do well when the same 11 players can be picked every week, but the reality is that Rodgers won’t be able to do that going forward. Rotation will be frequent and it will be necessary, and so it will be a time for a real test at Celtic Park.

We think that the Bhoys are certainly up to the task, though. Gordon, at least, is aware of what’s coming, and so the squad will likely be on the same page.

Thoughts?
