There is certainly nothing that surprises me about this Celtic board.

From appointing managers in the showers to ending a CEO’s stint after just three months. Serious questions need to be asked about the direction they are taking the club.

The long fabled January review is now nine months overdue and Ange Postecoglou still doesn’t have a Head of Recruitment, a Director of Football or a CEO.

The results on the park have certainly taken the heat off the board but will this next proposed appointment highlights just how out of touch they are with the fans.

Prominent fan action group, Fans Against Criminalisation (F.A.C.) released a statement on twitter today condemning the club for their proposed appointment of Assistant Chief Constable Bernard Higgins to a senior role within the club.

It’s a move that will upset the fans of the club as they remember the times they were routinely “kettled” by the police as they made their way to Celtic Park.

This potential appointment has been met with widespread condemnation by the Celtic fans on social media platform, Twitter, and it seems that the board could come under serious pressure if they allow this to take place:

Whether or not the board go ahead with this remains to be seen but one thing is clear, this would be a hugely unpopular decision and they should rethink this, and soon.
