Does winning the Scottish Cup end the crisis? This Celtic legend thinks so

|

Lubo Moravcik was an icon at Celtic Park. Natural talent the man was born to play football at the highest level and it is borderline criminal that it took until his 33rd year for him to be discovered properly, by a major club.

Famously dismissed in favour of John Spencer by Hugh Kevin’s on the eve of his signing, Moravcik went onto be a revelation at Celtic Park and became a cult hero among the supporters.

Lubo has always been true to his roots at Celtic and will always be remembered not only for his class on the pitch but for his fond reminiscences about the club, “My favourite time, my most special time, was at Celtic. I spent more than three and a half years there and I couldn’t have asked for more. People appreciated me and, maybe, some fans even loved me. They said I was a ‘gift from God’ but it was the opposite – Celtic was a gift from God to me.”

So when Moravcik says if Celtic win the cup this season the crisis will be over, you know he is speaking from his heart. Speaking at a William Hill event, Moravcik said, “If they (Celtic)  win the Cup and secure another Treble it will be fantastic.  I hope they finish the year strongly because the important game is against Rangers.   I cross my fingers for Neil the final will be a success and he can go and win the next three in the league. Win them all and it’s good preparation for the crucial game against Rangers”.

Moravcik made 94 appearances for the Hoops scoring 35 goals and you can enjoy all of them here.
