Odsonne Edouard remains the source of constant speculation, however, Celtic fans are being reassured that the club is doing everything in its powers to ensure the French youth international is still at the club when the transfer window shuts.

Speaking to Football Insider, Alex Bruce – who faced Edouard at Kilmarnock – claims that he has the inside track on the latest from Parkhead.

So what has Bruce said?

When asked if he sees the 22-year old leaving Celtic this summer, he said:

“I don’t think he’ll leave, I really don’t think he’ll leave. I’ve got it on pretty good authority that I don’t think he’s going to go anywhere.

“Celtic have really dug their heels in, totally, by all accounts people can’t even get a price for him. If they can keep him, which they’re digging their heels in to try and keep him, it would be fantastic for Celtic.

“They’ll want to go and do well and Europe and cement that 10-in-a-row that they’re desperate to do this season. Apparently all the players you might think might be of interest to other clubs, I don’t think anyone’s for sale.”

So is Bruce correct?

Only time will tell. There had been reports of a new contract offer being on the table but those stories have gone quiet and because of the major leagues only just finishing, clubs at the level that would be looking at Edouard have only just started plans for next season.

Will Edouard be at Celtic after the window shuts?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Celtic will only start getting worried if and when a striker transfer merry-go-round kicks off in England and if the likes of Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave Arsenal, who have long been linked with Neil Lennon’s talisman.

Edouard still has two years left to run on his deal at Parkhead so although they would probably lose a small percentage in terms of transfer fee, having him around for another season – in this of all years – would be infinitely more important than losing a couple of million to an already comfortable bank account.
