Former Hoop Andy Walker thinks the £9m we spent on Odsonne Edouard is worth the punt for the coming years.

The striker spent last season on loan with us, of course, and we duly signed him late last week on a permanent deal with him signing a 4-year deal.

Certainly, it’s a transfer I am pleased with as he is so young and already showing his talent and it looks as though Andy Walker thinks it’s worth it too.

As quoted by Sky Sports, he said:

“Yeah, I think he is [worth the gamble] because he’s 20 and when you look at the way he performed against Rangers, coming in from the cold, because Mousa Dembele was the top man. He had a terrific debut season for Celtic.”

The Verdict

I agree with Walker completely to be honest.

It is a fair bit of money but he’s a good young player that will excel under Brendan’s superb guidance.

We’ve got some bright young attackers at the club now and I think Odsonne will show us he’s worth every penny we spent on him.
