If there was a Celtic player you would label as the most valuable for the club, who would it be?

Callum McGregor? Reo Hatate? Jota? Daizen Maeda?

There are so many to name and we haven’t even looked at Cameron Carter-Vickers or Matt O’Riley.

But there was one man that former Celtic star Allan Stubbs put a huge £20m valuation on.

One man that he believes that we don’t need to sell even if we received a crazy offer for him.

Stubbs told Grosvenor Sport via Football Scotland“The big thing for Celtic is the financial position they find themselves in. I think the playing field they are on now is different and improved to five years ago.

“Then they might have had to sell a player but now they don’t have to because the balance sheet is very healthy.

“And if they are tested over Kyogo then they are going to make sure that he will go for top dollar and let’s be honest he won’t go for anything less than £20 million.

“I think Kyogo has been exciting since the day he arrived. I was interested to hear Ange’s comments that the team are not giving him the best service.

“He’s always making intelligent runs and he must be so difficult for defenders to deal with because his timing is so good. I think Ange is alluding to the fact that players are not reading his runs all the time and if they do he’s only going to score more goals.

“I can understand why fans are making comparisons with Henrik Larsson and if you’re getting mentioned in the same breath as him then you know he’s doing something very special.”

Kyogo has been in sensational form for Celtic this season. 26 goals in all domestic competitions and none of them penalties just shows how deadly the Japanese striker has been.

And when you take into account that he wasn’t even firing on all cylinders at the beginning of the season, that makes his numbers even more frightening.

Will Celtic ever receive a £20m for him? It’s really unlikely when you take into account his age and potential sell on value to another club but one thing I would say about Kyogo is that at this moment in time, he is priceless to the Celtic fans.

I will be leaving Vital Celtic tomorrow to join John McGinley and Hamish Carton on 67 Hail Hail from Monday the 27th of March.

Why on earth, in the current climate, would Celtic not get £20M for him? He’s 28 not 48! And considering Manchester United paid £70M for a 30 year old, and that Ajax were robbed of circa £20M for a total lump of wood – AND that PSG are (incredible though it is) linked with spending £50M on that useless plodder MaGuire, who is older than Kyogo, I don’t get your argument at all.

Hi Andy, it’s not a slight on the player. We won’t get £20m for him simply because he plays in the Scottish league. You can’t use the EPL as a barometer for transfer comparison as a lot of the clubs down south have more money than sense.

Hi Paddy, we got £25M for Tierney several years ago, and as stated, after Bassey went for around £20M, both having played int he SPL, I would be livid if Kyogo went and we received less than £30M. But that’s just my opinion.

Goalscorers like Kyogo are worth their weight in gold. Simples. Other -lesser- strikers are worth their weight in, well, buffalo dung.

Absolutely nothing incredible about Kyogo’s modest valuation.

If you want incredible look at the valuation of some of Sevcos runner ups by some muppet website..
