It’s a goal that will go down in Celtic folklore.
With the clock ticking into 67 minutes during today’s match against Kilmarnock, number five defender Jozo Simunovic rose to meet a cross and tucked a header away, in the same manner the late, great Billy McNeill did time and again.
It proved to be the winning goal, but for many in attendance it meant much more than that, it was almost otherworldly.
Today was the day that Paradise paid tribute to Cesar and in return it seems the memory of the great man has inspired Simunovic to score a goal that could win the league title.
The 1-0 win was otherwise fairly forgettable, but most fans won’t care about that. Today was a special moment and a special afternoon and whether Simunovic leaves tomorrow or stays for another ten years, he’s already cemented a special place in our hearts.
Celtic fans were ecstatic, taking to Twitter to tonight to share their thoughts on his epic header…
Simunovic deserves all the success he’s getting right now. He’s been unbelievable the past few weeks and he’s just paid the most fitting tribute to one of the greatest ever Celtic players

A script written in heaven. Celtic's present number 5 Jozo Simunovic paid the perfect tribute to the club's greatest number 5 Billy McNeill with a Cesar-like header as the clocked ticked on to 67 minutes to take the Hoops within touching distance of 8-in-a-row.A day to remember🍀
