“His comments mean nothing to me! – Lennon goes after old pal

|

Neil Lennon pulled no punches at his press conference yesterday and depending on where you sit in the Lennon camp, you were either embarrassed by the managers comments or delighted that someone has come out and defended the club. Next in line for Lennon was his old pal and ex team mate,, John Hartson.

Hartson suggested a the the weekend it was time for Lennon to go as the fans wanted change. Speaking to 10Ten Podcasts, (transcribed by the Scottish Sun) Hartson said, “The club has been a bit of a laughing stock in the last couple of months, in terms of the protests  and whether or not the manager is keeping his job.

“They keep giving Neil a lot of backing, but the fans clearly want change. They want to change the whole shooting match, rip it up and start again.

The Celtic boss had his reply and it was cutting, “John has an opinion, like more people on the periphery of the game.

“You either take it on board or you don’t. It has no impact on me. It means nothing.

“When he praises me, it means nothing. When he’s talking about me losing my job or being removed from my post, it means nothing to me.

“But when you are on the media side it’s an easy life.”

It seems like there will be no love lost between these two as long as this whole “Will Lennon stay or go” saga continues but you can be sure of one thing, we have not heard the last of Lennon this week!
