Ange doesn’t mess about does he? When he hears something he doesn’t like at a presser he just tells it how it is.

And this time was no different.

When asked about the AGM by a journalist at today’s Premier Sports pre match press conference, Ange was asked about Michael Nicholson’s intention to hire a Director of Football which seemed to confuse the Celtic gaffer as that wasn’t how the conversation went at the AGM.

Postecoglou replied, “I don’t think that’s, I mean, unless you went to a different AGM I don’t think that’s what Michael said.

“I don’t think he said that we’re looking at Director of Football. I think what he did say is we’re looking to restructure the football department and we’re looking at all areas and yeah, I’m very involved with that.

“Because ultimately the structure has to  fit in with what we’re trying to build here.

“And, for us, the key to that is for both Michael and I to get the right people in.

“I don’t think we mentioned Director of Football and I certainly haven’t mentioned Director of Football.

“It’s not something that is in our minds. In our minds is to get the right people in certain areas that we think need bolstering in this organisation.”

And the good news for the fans is that Ange looks to being heavily involved with all aspects of appointments that affect the running of first team affairs.

The bad news for the reporters? If you don’t get your facts right before asking the manager a question, he WILL call you out on it.

Good on Ange nipping that in the bud. Whether or not we did look to hire a DoF, they’re not going to announce that to the world and then be held to account for it. Love the manager
