As we await the arrival of the new Chief executive, Dom McKay, we also look forward to departing CEO, Peter Lawwell, retirement the dawn of a new age is upon the Celtic fans as we move into next season.

The new incoming CEO has a lot of work ahead of him and needs the backing of everyone at the club including the board of directors and surely now with the departure of Lawwell, McKay will have the freedom to stamp his authority on the club.

Not according to journalist Peter Martin. Speaking on his podcast, PLZ – The Football Show, Martin referenced stand in gaffer, John Kennedy’s press conference when the Celtic boss spoke about Lawwell’s legacy, “John Kennedy mentioned legacy. I don’t think it’s over, it’s just a personal opinion, I do not see,  obviously he’s going to step down from the Chief Executive role, but I don’t see him leaving Celtic and I certainly don’t see him leaving some of the corridors of power. Because I think there’s more to come from him.”

Co host, Tam McManus admitted he has no clue about what is going on behind Celtic Park doors but did interestingly say to Martin, “You’ll know that more than any of us know you know him probably better than any of us.”

It really was an incredible assertion from Martin as many fans expect Lawwell to leave the club completely at the end of the season and if true, could this prediction cast doubt over the clean slate many Celtic fans expect the club to be starting from next season?
