“I think Postecoglou’s the same” – Pundit compares Celtic gaffer to treble winning legend

Ange Postecoglou is one of a kind, isn’t he?

I don’t think, at least in the last 25 years, Celtic have had a manager like him and I am 44 years old.

His ability to deal with the press, his knowledge of football and his knack of getting the best out players that seemed to be nearing the end of their careers is astounding.

Martin O’Neill-esque.

But Gordon Dalziel thinks there is a more recent comparison to be made of the big Aussie gaffer.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Dalziel likened him to a former Celtic gaffer, Brendan Rodgers, “I think one of his strengths looking at him after these last five/six months is he has the ability to make players better.

“Look at Ralston, for instance, who we thought would be leaving.

“He’s signed a new contract and first pick, every week until he got injured.

“You look at Tom Rogic.  We thought he would be, probably, at the end of his career.

“He’s probably playing some of the best football he’s ever played.

“He’s improving players as well. He’s got players there that he’s working with. And he’s improving. I think that’s a big strength because Brendan Rodgers had a lot of pats in the back for that ability to do that. And I think Postecoglou’s the same.”

And who can argue with that?

The Celtic fans will be hoping that he brings the success Rodgers did, without the drama!
