Celtic defender Mark Wilson is keen to sort out his contract situation and desperate to remain at Parkhead.
“At this moment in time, it`s just a wee bit unclear but hopefully we can get talking and resolve things because I`d definitely love to stay here” – Mark Wilson
The 26-year-old has already held early discussions over extending his stay with the club but is still sweating over his immediate future. He is hopeful that Celtic choose to trigger a clause in his contract extending it by a further year rather than deciding to release him.
“I`d love to stay at this club. But I`m in a bit of an unclear situation just now where the club have a right to terminate my contract at the end of the season,” Wilson told the Glasgow Evening Times. “There is an option in their favour where they can either extend my deal by a year or basically say get on your way.
“At this moment in time, it`s just a wee bit unclear but hopefully we can get talking and resolve things because I`d definitely love to stay here,” he added. “I`ve said many times previously I don`t want to leave. I`d rather get it cleared up as soon as possible as I`ve got my family to think about.”
