FC Gronigen striker Tim Matavz turned down Celtic before deciding to instead join Napoli according to his agent.

Matavz, 22, will actually join the Serie ‘A’ title-chasers in the summer after a deal failed to be reached for the Slovenian international in January.
“Matavz turned down many offers to go to Napoli,” his agent Nusret Jashari told radio CRC, reports SkySports. “We received official bids from clubs like Celtic, Schalke, Wolfsburg and Palermo, but Napoli were the preferred option.
“On the last day of the transfer window negotiations with Napoli faltered due to a loan issue, but we have already reached an agreement to complete the transfer in July.”
