The transfer window is upon us and although it does seem as though Ange Postecoglou has all his cards laid out for a pretty good window.

With Celtic only needing to add only a couple of players to their ranks, I would hazard a guess that a central defensive midfielder and defender would be high on the list of priorities and with the news that Josip Juranovic is likely to be heading for the door after the World Cup, a right back may well be on the agenda as well.

But Hugh Keevins reckons that there is one other player who may well be heading for the door as well.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Keevins said, “If I read Ange Postecoglou correctly, he and Mark Lawwell, Head of Recruitment are bang on schedule to bring players in.

“We know a Japanese defender is high among them.

“I’m not sure that Celtic need that many players. I agree defensively.

“I’m not a great Carl Starfelt fan. Moritz Jenz yet doesn’t fill me with confidence either. Carter-Vickers is just fine.

“But I think a central defensive player would be handy. It doesn’t seem as if Stephen Welsh has a long-term future at Celtic.

“But upfront if you’ve got Jota, Abada, Kyogo, Maeda and Giakoumakis, I’m not sure how you keep another one happy.”

I do. You have a plan.

Because that’s what Ange does.

He plans for the unexpected and his statement at the AGM where he warned that fans will need to expect some of their players to leave was no accident.

And who mentioned anything about Welsh? The defender signed a four year contract extension last season so I would imagine he very much has a future at Celtic.

Maybe a loan move for him is in the offing?

We shall find out soon enough.

Who were Celtic’s most expensive transfer additions in these seasons?

Young man has taken a dip I think his confidence is low cause of lack of game times jen on loan CB to many loose passes not commanding area at crosses and not dangerous I’m opposition box for his height should be winning most ariel duels maybe second half off season now he knows what’s needed being a celtic player you have to attack ball officials won’t protect you hellknow that now jury out but will need to improve
