The transfer activity at Paradise has certainly ramped up since that stunning Hogmanay announcement of the Japanese trio signing for Celtic.

The Celtic fans are now expectant of more new arrivals and it seems that they will not have long to wait for the next announcement.

According to Irish media outlet The Sligo Champion, Celtic have beaten off competition from SPFL rivals Hibs to capture the signature of teenage sensation, Johnny Kenny.

Kenny was being courted by Hibs and was a guest of honour for the Leith club as they took on Dundee earlier in the season.

The teenager caught the eye of the Hoops scouts after scoring eleven times in thirty three games that helped Sligo Rovers on their way to European qualification.

With a fee of €150,000 it seems like a no brainer to take a punt on the young Irishman as clearly he is being earmarked as a signing for the future.

Celtic are already linked with several players in the SPFL including Hibs’ Martin Boyle and Motherwell’s Nevis Mugabe.

With Mugabe out of contract and the Hoops seemingly looking to strengthen the back line, there could be moves made in this window to secure his services but with a £3m fee reported for Boyle, it is not known whether the Parkhead club would look to pursue that move.
