It’s all in the name isn’t it?

Larsson. The mere mention of that name brings a tear to a certain vintage of Celtic fan.

The ‘Celtic Da’ out there.

Henrik was the best striker I’ve ever seen, and is likely to ever see, in my lifetime as a Celtic fan.

His like will never be seen in Paradise again.

But then, could it?

With the announcement of his son, Jordan, being freed from his contract at Spartak Moscow, Celtic twitter went into a frenzy as Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the 25 year old striker has already received some approaches:

Valued at £7.2m [Transfermarkt], Larsson has seven caps to his name and one goal at international level.

At club level, 74 goals in almost 250 appearances gives him a ratio of less than one goal every three games. But he also has 30 assists.

For me, that’s not good enough.

Would Jordan Larsson be a good signing for Celtic?

YES

YES

NO

NO

If we were to buy him, but now he is on a free, would he be worth a gamble?

According to Salary Sport, Larsson is on £25k per week.

I can’t imagine he would look for much more than that as he tries to get back into the game, and would he be willing to take less to follow in his dads footsteps to play at Paradise if other clubs offered more?

Who knows.

But then there are two other questions that need to be addressed.

Could he handle playing for Celtic but, more importantly, could he cope with being compared to his dad (because that WILL happen) on top of being a number nine at the Hoops?
