The Michut to Celtic rumour was huge yesterday.
Almost every media outlet and Celtic blog reported on the rumour and it did seem to have some legs in it given the coverage it was getting.
As the Celtic fans began salivating at the prospect of this young Frenchman strutting his stuff at Paradise, reports surfaced that Ange Postecoglou rubbished the story.
So that seems to be that.
But when asked if Ange was bluffing when he denied being interested in the PSG player, journalist Mark Hendry gave a surprising answer:
We at @Football_Scot didn’t report on Michut to Celtic at all today as our understanding from the get-go was that it wasn’t happening. Club were always aware of the speculation from this morning but stance was the same.

So if the transfer wasn’t happening then where did the story originate from and why?
How can a story that was such a non starter be reported with such vigour?
Ange Postecoglou was pretty certain when he addressed the rumour when he said, “Yeah, good player, but no.
“I have an interest in every good footballer in the world, but there is a limited market which I can tap into.
“He’s another footballer who is very much talented and very much in my range, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to bring him in, no.”
So if it’s not Michut then who is it?
And if it was never Michut as Hendry revealed, where the hell did the rumour come from?
