This is a strange one for me. This twitter account has been kicking about for a while and yesterday, the man behind it tweeted about the anniversary of Celtic’s famous 2-1 victory over Barcelona nine years ago.
That famous win sent the Hoops into the last 16 of the Champions League and put Neil Lennon’s name forever into Celtic folklore.
A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and it seems the former Celtic manager has burned his bridges with a number of the Parkhead support.
So is that why he hasn’t joined any social media platforms?
Of course, I am not just attributing that down to the relationship deteriorating with Celtic fans, for goodness sake I am sure Lennon has thought twice about joining Twitter because of the amount of abuse he suffered as a player and then manager from opposition fans.
Just imagine the vitriol that would have headed his way via anonymous trolls.
Is this why the Hoops fans are convinced that this account is, in fact, Lenny?
9 years ago today Celtic beat Barcelona and would go onto the CL Last 16. No Scottish team matched that since. Only person to manage and play for a Celtic team to beat Barca? pic.twitter.com/9M6kryNBOV

The replies to the tweet seemed innocent enough until you scroll down and find these:
Love it Neil HH

Ok Neil, that’s plenty

Was a great result Neil, but was a pure fluke.

Seems like a wind up but checking other tweets from that account, there is a very similar pattern of replies.
Who really knows if it is Neil Lennon. I guess we will never really know but it is an account worth keeping an eye on.
