Respected journalist Pete O’Rourke has just broken the news that Celtic have a agreed a compensation package with current club Yokohama F Marinos to allow the Australian to become the next Celtic manager.

Speculation has been rife now in the past week that Postecoglou was set to become the manager as he became the instant favourite after “he” seemingly knocked back Celtic’s offer. In a single tweet, O’Rourke said “Celtic have agreed a compensation deal with Yokohama F. Marinos for Ange Postecoglou to become their new manager #celticfc

There was doubt whether or not the deal for Postecoglou would go through as details emerged that he didn’t hold the necessary UEFA Pro Licence to allow him to become the Head Coach but that doesn’t seem to have deterred the Celtic boards pursuit of the manager Pep Guardiola called “one of the top ten coaches in the world”.

The big Australian has been the subject of much praise from the Australian press and many in their field believe that Postecoglou’s style and attacking football will suit the Glasgow giants as their football tradition is all about flair and free flowing football.

The Scottish press, however, have labelled this move as a panic by the board after the deal for H**e collapsed last Friday in a flurry of press releases.

With all the positivity from the foreign press on Postecoglou, it remains to be seen if the 55 year old has what it takes to manage one of the biggest clubs in the world.
