It’s not must win! Christie and McGregor defiant that season does not hinge on Derby

|

Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor have  both had their say on the run up to the Glasgow Derby and both are unanimoius in their opinion that Saturday’s game is not a must win in terms of the league. Both midfielders point to the amount of games still left to play and although they admit the importance of the game is not lost on them, they are confident, that regardless of the result, there is still plenty of points to play for even if they lose on Saturday.

When interviewed for Celtic TV, Christie said, “No there’s still plenty games to go. Obviously still half a season to go so you know to win the derby first and foremost to get revenge for the first derby of the season. And there was a lot of different factors and we’re desperate to win it, but, you know, coming out the other side, there’s still plenty of games to be played to find out who’s going win the league.”

McGregor was equally as adamant that the league does not hinge on this league result, “I don’t think so. I think, it’s the next game, it’s the most important one for us obviously we will go and try and win the game that’s, that’s in our nature, that’s in our DNA so we understand it’s an important game in terms of where the league’s at but you know I’m not gonna put any sort of labels on it in terms of must win games.

“We can very easily see that one weekend can change the whole momentum of the league so we’ve been here before, but experienced in that sense, and that you know these games are  just as important others just as important as the other thirty six.
