As Celtic released their first six months accounts yesterday, a tidy pre tax profit of over £25m gives an indication of just how secure the club is in the midst of a pandemic.

The successful player trading model that has served the club so well over the last 15 years has kept it on a sound financial footing and allowed Ange Postecoglou the opportunity to strengthen the squad.

And that is what they must do according to Hugh Keevins.

The journalist was speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard and urged to club to invest the profits into the first team, ” They are extremely healthy position and now, such as the way of football,  and such is the way of player trading.

“Now they have to get Jota.

“£6.5 million pounds.

“Cameron Carter-Vickers, I’ve never believed that Tottenham really think they can get £10 million for him but Celtic will have to negotiate a price over Cameron Carter Vickers.

“So now they are financially very secure,  and now they have to find things to do with the money.”

There is no doubt Ange will continue to be backed in the the transfer market regardless of whether the club win the league.

The board can see his vision, and they are of a kind to back him all the way.
