As quoted by the Daily Record, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has sought to shoot rumours that he and Scott Brown have had a bust-up out of the sky.
The manager and the skipper are the two biggest Celtic stalwarts at the club and there is a natural line of succession that runs through them as the midfield generals over the last period in Celtic’s history.
Indeed, they seem to have a good relationship but after the Cluj game earlier this season some suggested that they had had a fall-out.
With such speculation rising, Lennon has sought to address such worrying rumours and allay any fears we might have of disharmony, though, with some emphatic comments.
He said:
“I don’t know where that’s come from at all. It’s complete nonsense, honestly. I can’t control the rumours.
“All I can say is that I love him and, you know, we have a great relationship – a very strong bond with a huge amount of respect – and it goes back a long, long way.”
For sure, they are two leaders at the club and to have them at loggerheads would be a real issue.
It seems as though such claims are wide of the mark, though, and hopefully we can put that all to bed now.
