Relief for manager Neil Lennon after Celtic earned themselves a slender 1-0 victory at second division Arbroath in their Scottish Cup fourth round replay.

“It was uncomfortable at times, but that’s cup football” – Neil Lennon

Defender Adam Matthews scored the only goal in the first-half to leave the visitors contemplating a trip to first division Raith Rovers in the next round.

“It was a real test of character and I’m delighted with the attitude of the players,” Lennon later admitted to BBC Scotland. “It was uncomfortable at times, but that’s cup football.

“We’re into the next round and it’s another competition to look forward to in the New Year,” he added. “Overall, I’m pleased to get the job done.”
