What can you say about Broony that hasn’t been said before already? The man is a legend and I’m not going to lie, seeing him move to Aberdeen in the summer hurt.

We have all gotten so used to seeing the formidable captain in the green and white hoops, looking at him in another rivals strip was almost sacrilegious.

But it seems now, according to reports [The Daily Record] talks are underway this morning to terminate the former Celtic captains contract as he looks to hang up his boots and take up a coaching role within the game.

And journalists Peter Martin and Alisson McConnell reckon the pathway back to Celtic could be on the cards for the legendary former skipper.

Speaking on PLZ Football Show, Martin said, “My gut feeling on this, there’s a couple of people in the background, who are taking their badges and I think Scott will one day, I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to think that he would, hope there’s a path all the way back to Celtic as he continues his coaching career.

“You can never second guess whether a great player is going to be a good coach.”

And fellow journalist, McConnell agreed, “I don’t think he’s never made any secret of the fact that he wanted to pursue it, that he wanted to give it a go and see where it went.

“I think the association with Celtic is so long, 14 years so you know, a decorated player and a pretty successful and glittering career.

“I think there was an option possibly last year to maybe pursue a coaching role but he wanted to go up to Aberdeen with Stephen Glass and maybe make a fresh start.

“But I think if the coaching element is successful, I definitely think there would be a pathway back at some point to Celtic Park.”

Many fans would love to see Broony back at Celtic in some sort of coaching capacity but the big question is does Ange NEED him back at this moment and time?

We will watch on with interest.
