New twist in transfer saga surrounding Celtic star – deal now at risk?

|

Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata will be left waiting on whether his potential move to German club Hertha Berlin is given the green light, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

It was reported at the start of the month that the Belgian international had agreed a move to the Bundesliga side following discussions with sporting director Michael Preetz.

However, there’s a potential spanner in the works now on the reported £40,000-a-week deal, with the German club confirming that current boss Pal Dardai will be stepping down from the job at the end of the season.

The paper say that Boyata is now waiting on the move being green lit by any incoming new manager.

With the move potentially at risk, is there now scope for Celtic to make a renewed push to keep the player beyond the end of his contract this summer?

Neil Lennon expressed those wishes quite clearly recently and there’s no doubt the club will be doing all they can to retain the services of a talented and experienced international who has improved massively over the last 18 months.
