Celtic have begun to have a decent window this month now and though there is still plenty of work to do, at least the wheels are rolling.

The Bhoys have been linked with a number of players in recent weeks and the likes of Timothy Weah and Oliver Burke have ended up joining.

One man I’d love to see us go for, though, is James McCarthy with him subject of interest from the likes of West Brom and Aston Villa according to the Daily Mail.

For sure, it might be a bit tough to get him thanks to Premier League wages but if we could wrangle some sort of deal he’d be a class addition to our midfield.

The centre of the park isn’t the most glaring area that needs improving in our side but Scott Brown is not getting any younger and we do need to consider it.

And, considering McCarthy was born in Glasgow, plays for Ireland and is hungry for first-team minutes, this seems a no-brainer if we can get a package lined up.
