“People will probably slaughter me” – Podcaster makes huge Karamoko Dembele claim

|

Young Dembele certainly had the potential to be a huge star for Celtic.

From an early age, he youngster was a YouTube sensation as footage of him taking on, and beating, players four years his elder gave the Celtic fans hope that they had a superstar for the future.

But it wasn’t to be as Dembele struggled to make the breakthrough under THREE different Celtic managers.

Speaking about young Karamoko Dembele, A Celtic State of Mind podcaster, Kevin Graham said, “Talking about Karamoko Dembele and he was spoken about since he was 13.

“He was a generational talent.

“And I’m maybe gonna say something here that people will probably slaughter me for, but I’m going to say it anyway.

“And I don’t think it’s daft.

“If Delia or Rodgers were the manager of the club, Karamoko Dembele would have been a first team regular the now.”

That’s quite the claim and where I would agree with Kevin is that under Ronny Delia, Dembele would have thrived.

The Norwegian manager loved giving youngsters there chance.

He was, after all, the man that gave Callum McGregor his breakthrough and Kieran Tierney if I’m not mistaken?

It will be interesting to see where Dembele winds up and also to see if he will ever live up to his hype.

Celtic would’ve had very good reasons for letting him go. Maybe he had the wrong mentality, a bad attitude? He looked out his depth when given a chance in the first team, that much was obvious. He could still make a go of it for himself in football, perhaps he just needs time to grow into himself as a man and player?

  • Terry O'Neill says:

We all know that he has great ball control skills but with his stature he would have to be exceptional to make it at a big club. He may well make a living in football but it would be in a lower league. Time to let him go.

The kid never got a proper chance. Injuries didn’t help either. What harm would it do to keep him another season? I would give him a chance as a 10, his game is more suited to that position. we have always played him wide
