So, what are all our predictions for the game tonight?

Celtic win? Draw? Defeat? Let me know in the poll below.

I have gone from writing us off against the Madrid giants to settling for a draw to having hopeful and wishful dreams of maybe, possibly, we could sneak a win.

Being realistic, I think we will do well to get a draw. I would take a draw but with this side, you just never know.

But Ewan Cameron’s reaction to this prediction by Tam Cowan on The Big Scottish Football podcast tells you all you need to know about what he thinks the chances of Celtic are tonight.

Have a listen:

It’s a strange reaction to have don’t you think?

It’s not as if Cowan predicted a 4-0 win against the Spaniards.

This was a perfectly balanced and fair outlook as to how Cowan could see the tie panning out.

Was it really that outrageous to suggest that the Hoops could come away with a 1-1 draw?

It’s not the most far-fetched prediction and I think it’s one that could happen.

Earlier I wrote that Chris Sutton reckons we could come away with a 2-2 draw. I said at the time that seems a bit unrealistic as I couldn’t see four goals in this game.

I’ll take Cowan’s prediction right now, but then, we can all still dream of a win.

Can’t we?

What we should gain from tonight’s game is major experience, exposure, respect and encouragement.
Do I expect a win? No. A draw then? No.
Do I hope I’m wrong? Hell yes!
What I wouldn’t want to witness is a repeat of humiliating defeats at home to not so “top” European clubs in years gone past.
We have five games after tonight. Hopefully we gain enough tonight to give us the belief that the next four games are winnable and the last one, against the European Champions, irrelevant.
    Hail Hail Celtic.
Do us proud tonight, do YOURSELVES proud tonight!
