Report claims Celtic have agreed very surprising transfer summer exit

With the amount of players Celtic are said to be trying to offload, I genuinely thought this one would not have been a priority.

Vasilis Barkas, Boli Bolingoli and Albian Ajeti are all deemed surplus to requirements at Celtic Park, that is clear. £13m worth of transfers sitting on a bench all earning upwards of £40k per week combined, getting those guys off the wage bill would have been my priority,

Not Osaze Urhoghide.

For two reasons.

Firstly, the guy has hardly had a chance and when he did get an opportunity, he grasped it and let no one down.

His fleeting appearance against Real Betis was very impressive. Now, people can go on about it being a dead rubber etc….  but he still shone and showed enough, for me, that he could develop into a player that could do a job.

Powerful, calm and composed and aggressive. The kind of player Celtic need in that back line.

But Ange clearly felt a loan move was the best way forward for him and he was shipped of to KV Oostende on loan for the season.

Well, it looks now as if that loan move may now be permanent as a report from Football Insider claims that the club have decided his future lies elsewhere in the summer.

It is understood that the Belgian side have first refusal on Urhoghide but if they don’t decide to take up the offer, then ‘sources’ within the club claim the youngster will be offloaded to another club.

  • Seppington says:

This is a strange one right enough. I can only imagine there’s something about the lad’s attitude that doesn’t sit well with Ange.

  • Pan says:

I agree with you. I find it quite mystifying to let him go. He strikes me a very good and strong player. Maybe Seppington is correct here.
