Chronicle Live reckons that Sunderland might have been dealt a blow in terms of trying to sign Lewis Morgan this summer after he performed well last night.

The Bhoys are currently in Austria for pre-season and beat SK Vorwarts Steyr 1-0 yesterday evening in a good warm-up for our Champions League qualifier in July.

Morgan was one of the more impressive talents during the game, too, and the report is suggesting that the Bhoys might decide to keep a hold of him with that in mind, meaning Sunderland miss out.

The Verdict

I think this could more than be the case.

Morgan did well last night and is clearly aiming to have an impact for Celtic this season coming rather than any other side.

Sunderland and Jack Ross might still feel that they can offer him something but I don’t see it happening and I think Brendan will be pleased with what he saw last night.

Certainly, it was a positive start.
