Shock new interest from EPL for Celtic star according to major popular podcaster

As the clock ticks down on the season and the end of some of the Celtic players’ tenure at Paradise, many Hoops fans are resigned to losing their top stars when this disastrous season concludes.

Many first team players are expected to depart when the transfer window opens and with firm interest in one Celtic’s top players, the boys from The Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles and Ian McGarry, confirm that English Premier League giants, Liverpool, are in the running for Odsonne Edouard’s signature.

McGarry says that Liverpool could step up their interest in the Hoops talisman as they prepare to lose one of their three top strikers in the summer, “Liverpool and Arsenal are two teams who are chasing Odsonne Edouard of Celtic. A player who we’ve mentioned a few times on the podcast, mostly with regards to Arsenal’s interest.

“What, I think, is particularly interesting about the fact that Liverpool have entered into the equation, is that they have done so on the basis that they expect, or at least suspect, that one of the front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino or Saido Mané may leave in the summer window.

“Edouard, who’s a different kind of player to all three, given that he plays as a number nine exclusively, and can score goals and of course they do have Diego Jota in that position as well.

“But as someone who could fulfil a role, either in the centre or along the front three attacking positions, and is available, as we’ve reported for around 25 million euros (£21m). And there’s an option for them with regards to a replacement for one or other of those players.”

With interest in Edouard also coming from Leicester City and West Ham United, Celtic may need to brace themselves for a bidding war as they bid to cash in on their star striker who has just over a year left on his contract.
