Celtic’s financial status is probably one of the strongest in the Scottish game at the moment.
With the club posting a healthy £6m profit for last season amid record player sales and increased match revenue, Twitter account Swiss Ramble gave an extremely detailed analysis and breakdown of the club’s current and past financial status this morning.
There are many facets to the posted thread but one of the most revealing stats the account posted was just how successful our transfer playing trading model has been over the last decade:
Profits from player sales have made a big difference to #CelticFC bottom line. As a result, in the last 10 years they have generated £141m profit from player trading, compared to just £19m in the same period for Rangers. pic.twitter.com/jh7wUTTgct

Quite stunning considering we operate in such a small country with a limited budget.
The club’s ability to spot talent like Moussa Dembele, Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and developing academy players like Kieran Tierney has helped to generate this incredible figure.
And the future looks just as good under Ange Postecoglou.
The Australian has managed to unearth gems like Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate from Japan and with the manager also discovering UK-based players like Matt O’Riley and Cameron Carter-Vickers, the future financial status of the club is on sound on a very sound footing as the aforementioned players are being tipped for big money moves already.
