The Kevin Nisbet story is one that is very interesting.
The Hibs striker has been the subject of much speculation in this transfer window and with the Scotland striker looking like he is going to seal a £2.4m deal with Millwall, many have questioned why Celtic didn’t enter the race for him.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Grant said, “The price goes right up if Celtic phone Hibs you know the price is going to right away.
“The English teams, the amount of money they get is phenomenal.
“And it’s value for money the manager is probably looking at it.
“You look at Celtic’s new signing and he’s two and a half million pounds and Hibs are asking for four or five million from Celtic, you can see the reason why that doesn’t happen.
“We said in the summer about young [Lewis] Ferguson about young [Josh] Doig, both of them and Celtic were looking for midfielders or left backs, you’re thinking all day long
“As I say, there must be a reason why. Whether they get priced out of the market.
“It’s not down to the boy’s talent.
“People question when he got released with [Partick] Thistle they said he didn’t work hard enough and all this sort of thing.
“At Raith Rovers it was the same, his professionalism wasn’t the greatest, and some of the guys I spoke to, I didn’t know him so it’d be very wrong for me to say, that but that’s what I used to get told with people.”
There is one point where I disagree with Grant. I don’t think Nisbet is good enough for us. I don’t think he is any better than what we have here and I am almost certain that Ange would have looked at him at some point and decided no.
But he does nail it. Value for money and attitude. Two major factors that Ange Postecoglou looks for in a transfer deal.
And looking at what Grant said about what he was told about the striker, it’s not hard to see why.
With Celtic looking like they are set to lose Giakoumakis any day now, could another striker be on the cards or will be roll the dice for the rest of the season with what we already have?

It would be crazy to pay Hibs 3 or 4 million for a player from the SPL when a Korean international is available for less money. I don’t see the Korean League being significantly weaker than Scotland’s (to be honest I don’t know) but they have a better International side and he is breaking into that. Oh is a better deal.
