There are many things to be concerned about regarding Celtic.

The style of football and the quality in key areas isn’t one for them.

From the back line right through to the front of Celtic’s first team squad, we have quality in every position. Joe Hart, Carter Vickers, Rogic, Jota and the rest are all quality players for the Hoops when fit available.

But speaking to BBC Sportsound after last nights 1-0 win over Hearts, pundit and Hearts fan, Michael Stewart pinpointed the players he thinks are simply irreplaceable for Ange Postecoglou, “The thing is with the injuries, Celtic, you know, the squad isn’t huge, they can’t carry too many injuries.

“But no disrespect to the guys that have gone off [injured] there, Jota is clearly a big player, but there are alternatives.

“When Callum McGregor and Kyogo were out earlier in the season, they started to build momentum, they lost the two of them, and that’s when it started to just slip slightly.

“There’s a few players in this side, they would miss them. Callum McGregor and Kyogo and they really cannot replace them.

“As good as Jota is, they have alternatives in that forward line that can come in and maintain a level.

“The problem for Celtic is the squad depth isn’t great. They can carry some positions. Certain players, they don’t have replacements for them.

“And the two biggest ones for me Kyogo and Callum McGregor and they were both missing when they hit that little dip in, I think it was, September early October time.”

And in some ways, I can see his point. Kyogo, for sure, would be the biggest loss as there is no one in that position that could lace his boots.

And whilst there is sufficient cover in the middle of the park, captain Callum McGregor, would be a huge loss to the side not only for his footballing ability, but also his leadership skills.

Postecoglou really has a job on his hands this transfer window.
